Fred S Emerald Isle , NC March 26, 2016 Couldn't control the heat on the big burner it intermittently got red hot (and stayed there) I first diagnosed the problem by replacing the burner control (Infinite switch) with one from a smaller burner (one that I knew worked fine). That seemed to solve the problem. I ordered the correct control for the big burner on Saturday night, it arrived Tuesday and installed it in less than 10 minutes using only a Phillips screwdriver. Remember to unplug the stove before performing any service. Take this time to clean around and under the stove. (You know it needs it!) Sanford H Aurora , CO October 03, 2015 Appliance: Model WHIRL POOL MOD. TES325KQ An 8 inch range element wouldn't heat The present element resistance was 23 ohms. The tech suggested I replace it with a factory part number.I did..No change. The original element had an internal high resistance short to the outer frame. This caused the infinity switch to fail. I replaced the element and the infinity switch which solved the problem. Once I discovered the problem and had the new parts in hand; the repaid took15 minutes to fix. It only took about five hour to discover the real problem. In over 60 years of repairing appliances; I have never seen this kind of an internal failure of an element.
