Called an appliance guy, who said the control panel needed to be changed and quoted me $600. Luckily I Googled the model number and found this website. After seeing that several other people had had the same problem and that the membrane was recommended (not the control panel), I took a chance and ordered the part. One of the other posters recommended a Japanese YouTube video which I easily found and watched first. I highly recommend watching the video first. It's not a hard repair but he gives a few little tips that are worth knowing in advance. Replacement took about 45 minutes and fixed the problem. $112 vs $600 quoted by the appliance guy... needless to say, I'm an Appliance Parts Pros convert!
