Roy K Elmhurst , IL May 16, 2014 Appliance: Whirlpool 30" Gas Slide-In GW397LXUS05 The oven control pad bake button is not functioning Took off the the front panel. First removed the knobs, then the four screws above each knob stem. With oven door open removed four screws under the front door oven panel. Last removed the two side screws on the oven control. Keeping hold of the front unit. Then removed the pigtail attached to the panel and the ground screw. Now the unit is detached. Then removed control box with the two screws. This did two things. One easier access to the ribbon inserts for easier removal. Second since the unit is secured by glue backing you can remove the old oven pad by pushing through the opening that would be the digital display. Once removed, took backing off new control pad and slide ribbons through push the pad into its position. Reverse steps. Marc R Warrenton , OR September 07, 2014 Failed touchpad on oven/stove I researched the part, then found a real cheap one on another site. Litterally a split second before I hit "submit payment" I decided to check reviews from other customers on this site because it was so much cheaper. WHEW!! Dodged the bullet. The reviews were terrible, probably would have lost my money. I then researched appliancepartspros and found they had excellent reviews and customer service. I ordered the part. It was correct and arrived very quickly. It was an easy install after checking some YouTube videos for help. Perfect part. Fast shipping. Thank you. Robin H Jamaica Beach , TX January 08, 2017 Appliance: Whirlpool 30" Gas Slide-In Range GW397LXUS06 Several of the keypad buttons stopped working Called an appliance guy, who said the control panel needed to be changed and quoted me $600. Luckily I Googled the model number and found this website. After seeing that several other people had had the same problem and that the membrane was recommended (not the control panel), I took a chance and ordered the part. One of the other posters recommended a Japanese YouTube video which I easily found and watched first. I highly recommend watching the video first. It's not a hard repair but he gives a few little tips that are worth knowing in advance. Replacement took about 45 minutes and fixed the problem. $112 vs $600 quoted by the appliance guy... needless to say, I'm an Appliance Parts Pros convert!
