I noticed the floor around the dishwasher was starting to get wet and warp the wooden floor. The chopper had gotten out of line and had cut a pinhole into the sump housing and the dishwasher was leaking badly. It was quite easy to repair. Just unhook the drain hose and the wire connectors, twist off the turbidity sensor and waste motor, pull out the shims and the whole assemple comes up and out. The hardest part was pulling the motor off of the assembly, since I wasn't sure if I needed to to anything special to pull it off. It turned out to be just a bit tight and it came off after gently prying with a screwdriver. The next hardest part was getting the rear shim in place when returning the assembly to its location. There is a heating coil lead right where the shim goes in, so one has to put the shim on the assembly before pushing it down into the hole. If I had to do this whole project again, I could probably do it in 20 minutes now from start to finish. I didn't have to remove the dishwasher from its location.
