I decided to replace the top three items that this site recommended for squeaking noise from my dryer from the middle ages - drum belt, support rollers, and drum roller axles. I'm not sure which issue it was that actually caused the noise, all I know is I spent like $60 and it didn't take very long and it was a pretty easy repair. My only issue was I didn't have a 9/16" open ended wrench for the back of the roller axles so I went out and bought a set - highly recommended since you have to reuse those nuts as the new axles do not come with replacements (don't strip them!). I also vacuumed the inside of the machine because it was disgusting, and cleaned the exterior of the drum itself before putting the new belt back on. All in all I'm very happy with the repair and hope to get another 550 years out of the machine :) 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours
