My Frigidaire Refrigerator FFHS2611LW7 stopped making ice. The water dispenser was working fine. I tired a couple of things before changing out the ice maker. First I replaced the water filter. Did not fix. I replaced the water valve. It did not fix the issue but the dispenser water pressure was better so I think that may have been part of the issue. That part was extremely easy to fix utilizing the part and video provided by Appliance Parts Pros along with the live chat. I chatted again and it was determined that the ice maker assembly itself was pretty much all it could be. I ordered it and it was received the next day!!!! It took less than 15 minutes to remove the old ice maker and install the new one and that is the truth! I am fairly handy but all that was required for my model was the loosening of the screws that hold the unit on and the unplugging of the electrical fitting. It was unbelievably easy. My advice is to be patient, it will take some time for it to fill and drop the first batch of ice. Leave it alone for a bit before you panic and assume that it's not working (like I did....) The water valve replacement also took under 30 minutes to replace and the part also arrived within 2 days!!! I highly suggest live chatting and utilizing the videos. I would have spent more time mucking things up on the water valve had I not used the video!!. You absolutely will be able to repair your own appliance, saving yourself time and the cost of a service call. At this time we are in the middle of a pandemic and the option of having a service person in my home did not exist. I will ALWAYS go to AppliacePartsPros before calling a service person to fix something. 50 stars for this company. And you can live chat and get excellent advice without purchasing anything, they truly are there to help and if you do need a part they find the one for your unit and can help you purchase. I'm 1000 % satisfied with all of my dealings with this company!!
Good luck on your DIY repair!! YOU CAN DO IT!!
