It was an easy fix. A total of 9 screws (5 on the cover, 4 on the old magnetron) were all that stood between me and completion. Since the part had a 2-day estimated delivery, I unplugged the microwave as soon as I placed the order so I didn't have to worry about any stored charges (although I did ground the contacts to be sure).
