Kerwyn H Brooklyn , NY October 17, 2014 Appliance: Model MW5490W My microwave was no longer heating food although all the controls worked I ordered a magnetron from AppliancePartsPro.com. It was an easy fix. A total of 9 screws (5 on the cover, 4 on the old magnetron) were all that stood between me and completion. Since the part had a 2-day estimated delivery, I unplugged the microwave as soon as I placed the order so I didn't have to worry about any stored charges (although I did ground the contacts to be sure). Now the micro is up and running. Thanks for an easy, cost-effective solution! Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers

I also noted a small plastic piece near the magnetron was slightly melted indicating that the magnetron may have overheated. I replaced the magnetron and the oven worked properly Read More...
