The Kitchen Aid blender is three years old, out of warranty. It was $90 new, and same price today if purchased new.
It developed a very loud noise when blending and upon closer look, noticed the drive coupler was tilted. Upon handling the unit, it was clear that the motor was moving inside the housing.
I pulled the four screws on the bottom of the blender and saw both plastic motor mounts on the Lock-Jar were broken. (You'll need a square drive tool to remove these screws, and the ones inside the housing too.)
I watched some YouTube content to understand the repair, ordered the parts and got to it.
Hardest part was removing the Drive Couple (a left-hand thread btw...).
I ended up removing the fan from the drive shaft to avoid damage, mounted a screwdriver in my vise, placed the drive shaft slot on the screwdriver then used adjustable alligator pliers to break loose the Drive Coupler.
Reassembled the Lock-Jar with Lock-tite in all four holes.
All better.
