Scott R Wilmington , IL September 30, 2016 Appliance: KitchenAid 5-Speed Midline Blender 56 Oz Plastic Jar KSB560BF0 Blender coupler was stripped Most of the instructions you find online are for a different type of coupler that pops off. This model is different, as the coupler unscrews. I found a video for this specific model blender and I'll summarize below: Turn the blender over so the bottom of the blender is facing up You have to pop the bottom rubber feet off. Take off the four screws on the bottom of the blender Lift the bottom of the blender up and off. This may take two people. You'll need a heavy duty wrench under the blender to lock down and secure the coupler to keep it from spinning. You'll need a flathead screw driver to turn the screw that is on the Fan that is on the bottom side of the blender. Please note the threads are reverse so you have to turn the screw to the right to loosen. I repeat to the right to loosen. While holding The coupler from moving. ( there's no reason why they had to make that screw so small, it made it almost impossible to take off. Not very user-friendly…) Once it's loosened turn it back over and unscrew the coupler. Screw the new coupler on. Reverse the steps to put the blender back together. Michael P Mission Hills , CA October 10, 2016 All the teeth on the coupler and the jar assembly were ground to nothing My daughter decided to use the blender and forgot to lock the jar in place and ground all the teeth on the coupler and the the jar assembly down to nothing. I went looking on how to fix it and found a repair video. The video sent me to your site. I bought the parts and replaced them, and for a fraction of what it would cost to replace the blender, I have a brand newish working perfectly blender! Thanks! Jim B Red Lion , PA July 19, 2021 Motor mounts broken on lock jar blender. The Kitchen Aid blender is three years old, out of warranty. It was $90 new, and same price today if purchased new. It developed a very loud noise when blending and upon closer look, noticed the drive coupler was tilted. Upon handling the unit, it was clear that the motor was moving inside the housing. I pulled the four screws on the bottom of the blender and saw both plastic motor mounts on the Lock-Jar were broken. (You'll need a square drive tool to remove these screws, and the ones inside the housing too.) I watched some YouTube content to understand the repair, ordered the parts and got to it. Hardest part was removing the Drive Couple (a left-hand thread btw...). I ended up removing the fan from the drive shaft to avoid damage, mounted a screwdriver in my vise, placed the drive shaft slot on the screwdriver then used adjustable alligator pliers to break loose the Drive Coupler. Reassembled the Lock-Jar with Lock-tite in all four holes. All better.
