It was easy to determine that the element was burnt-out by observation of a damaged area.
After searching and looking for an online replacement I found that my original part had been discontinued due to age. I noticed on this website that they offered a cross reference and found a compatible element and it was listed for $15 less than some of the other sites.
The shipping was fast and the element was identical to what I replaced.
Installation was easy by turning off the breaker supplying power and a couple of screws, and plugging in.
