Daniel A Whippleville , NY March 22, 2017 Appliance: Model UNKNOWN The oven bake element had burned out when i pulled the old element out only one of the two wires came out with it both wires should have come out within reach I tried to fish the missing wire out of the hole that it should have come out of but it would not come. It felt solidly anchored. Now this is a wall oven so the access to the back of it is in the cellar stairway. I got a step ladder and placed it on one of the treads, and leaned the ladder against the platform the oven sits on. I climbed onto the the platform. Then I removed the back of the oven to see why the wire would not come out of the hole in the oven. Problem solved! The wire had been pinched between the back cover and the back of the oven. Put cover back on and pull wire out into the oven. Finally I get to do the only part of the job that you would normally have to do. I slid the electrical connectors onto the wires and tucked them back into the holes, slid the "prongs" of the element into the two holes and secured the element with two screws that go thru the clips on the element. The "normal" part of the job was a piece of Cake. Rest assured that climbing a ladder is NOT a part of most oven repairs. 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours
