First, removed old element and tested continuity to confirm the problem.
Second, searched on-line for replacement by model number. AppliancePartsPros.com had what appeared to be what I needed at the lowest price, but the oven model number was not an exact match (subset of Thermador SMW272).
Third, watched repair video and then called AppliancePartsPros. Talked with Kevin who was exceedingly helpful. Although he could not verify the specific subset of the oven model number I was looking for, he gave me enough confidence to proceed and guaranteed the return.
Forth, received heating element the next day (the Friday before Easter), as promised, and installed the part. It worked perfectly.
Fifth, I reported my success to Kevin and thanked him for his excellent help.
Sixth, my wife was able to cook a great Easter dinner for our children and grandchildren!
