Removed the brackets that sheltered the fan blade, removed the fan clip (was a little difficult but a needle nose plier was helpful), removed broken fan blade collar. Attached new fan blade and clip. Getting the new fan blade seated on the stem was difficult. I used a socket (so that the stem had room to move down onto the fan) and a rubber mallet on the socket to achieve a complete seating. Reattached brackets. Also ordered a charcoal filter to replace the standard filter. The charcoal filter has made a difference in clearing any residual cooking odors.
