PROBLEM: Compactor motor ran but ram would not go down to compress trash.
After checking all the electrical switches and gears, the trouble shooting indicated the power nuts were bad. Significant diffficulty removing the ram without damaging the reverse/limit switches and on/off switch. Definitely an engineering mistake not allowing more clearance.
Replaced the power nuts, lubed them up and reinstalled the ram ( again difficulty gating past the switches!).
Had to adjust the switch arms due to damage from ram removal and installation.
Turned it on and voila the ram engaged the screws and all good.
