Sue F Jacksonville , FL December 16, 2014 Appliance: Whirlpool Electric Dryer GEW9250PL0 Whirlpool Dryer Gew9250pl0: Would not power up. How to replace User Interface (Pewter). I followed the testing sequence printout that was found in the base of the dryer panel. According to the printout, my dryer needed a new control board. I ordered the board from AppliancePro and was surprised when it arrived one day later. I installed the control board and was dismayed to find that I still had the same problem. I posted this information on the repair blog at AppliancePro and was advised that the problem sounded like the "user interface board". So, I ordered that board while holding onto the Control Board that I had previously ordered just in case I would need it. After installing the "user Interface Board" my problem was fixed. I want to add here that the instructions from Whirlpool for removing the old "User Interface Board" were incomplete. Besides the six tabs Whirlpool tells you to release, there are additional tiny tabs around the control knob stem that must be released also. Those little tabs stumped me for an extra day as they are not very easily seen. Anyway, I got the old user board out finally without destroying the front panel of my dryer, replaced the board and was very pleased to have my dryer working again. I have returned the Control Board which I originally ordered and expect a refund soon. I am so happy to not have to hang all my clothes up to dry anymore!
