Sue F Jacksonville , FL December 16, 2014 Appliance: Whirlpool Electric Dryer GEW9250PL0 Would not power up I followed the testing sequence printout that was found in the base of the dryer panel. According to the printout, my dryer needed a new control board. I ordered the board from AppliancePro and was surprised when it arrived one day later. I installed the control board and was dismayed to find that I still had the same problem. I posted this information on the repair blog at AppliancePro and was advised that the problem sounded like the "user interface board". So, I ordered that board while holding onto the Control Board that I had previously ordered just in case I would need it. After installing the "user Interface Board" my problem was fixed. I want to add here that the instructions from Whirlpool for removing the old "User Interface Board" were incomplete. Besides the six tabs Whirlpool tells you to release, there are additional tiny tabs around the control knob stem that must be released also. Those little tabs stumped me for an extra day as they are not very easily seen. Anyway, I got the old user board out finally without destroying the front panel of my dryer, replaced the board and was very pleased to have my dryer working again. I have returned the Control Board which I originally ordered and expect a refund soon. I am so happy to not have to hang all my clothes up to dry anymore! Thanks AppliancePro!! Roger S Virginia Beach , VA July 24, 2016 Appliance: Whirlpool Electric Dryer GEW9250PT0 Whirlpool duet dryer control locked flashes and beeps (gew9250pt0) I replaced the interface console control panel on the dryer. The hardest part was removing the old interface console control panel from its housing assembly. I wished their was a video on replacing this part. The tech manual tells you that the part is held by seven plastic latches but neglected to talk about the small latches that hold the cycle selector rod in the middle of the control panel. After the replacing the part, the control panel on the dryer worked perfectly. No more control locked flashes and beeps. I would definitely use AppliancePartsPros.com again for their parts and resources. Thank you. Kimberly W Herndon , VA July 22, 2016 Appliance: Whirlpool Electric Dryer GEW9250PL0 Control locked light wouldn't turn off My controls declined over a couple of weeks - the "control locked" light would go on and holding the "end of cycle" button to clear it didn't work. Unplugging the machine for a while helped a couple of times, although some of the buttons stopped working each time (only manual cycles could be run) and it was clear that the problem was getting worse. Finally, the control light stayed on, the machine beeped, and nothing could clear it. I ordered the electronic control board (in pewter to match the buttons on my machine - there are different colored buttons which isn't always clear in the control board parts description). Our handyman replaced it in about 20 minutes. It was pretty straightforward. I wouldn't have wanted to attempt it myself because I am not at all handy, but it was a relatively easy job for someone who is handy.
