Purchased and swapped out the ice maker unit. Located a video on Youtube to see the process before I started. Wished I'd have some kind of water proof tape available to help secure the new wires in the slots the previous wires were removed from. All in all the project was easy and the end results is I now have a properly functioning ice maker.
