Deryl R Sunnyvale , TX June 25, 2021 Appliance: Model 605KR00677 The previous ice maker leaked water into the ice cube container, creating block of ice. Purchased and swapped out the ice maker unit. Located a video on Youtube to see the process before I started. Wished I'd have some kind of water proof tape available to help secure the new wires in the slots the previous wires were removed from. All in all the project was easy and the end results is I now have a properly functioning ice maker. Edward M San Antonio , TX October 20, 2022 Appliance: Model AEQ73130004 (ICEMAKER ITSELF) Excess water from icemaker caused ice cubes to stick together in storage compartment. Replaced icemaker and also cleaned calcium deposits off the spigot at the top. Reviewed several youtube videos beforehand to get a clear idea of how to remove it. It wasn't difficult to remove the assembly containing the icemaker but you need to act quickly to minimize the time the refrigerator door is open. Once it is out, you close the door and can then take your time to remove the icemaker from the assembly and then install the new one. We found a thin surface layer of rust on the transformer at the bottom but it cleaned up nicely with a small wire brush. You can use masking tape to remove the rust once loosened by the brush. We took over two hours because it was our first time doing this, but am sure it would go more quickly if we have to do it again.
