Checked 220 volt input. Found one wire off of terminal ( L1 ) and the other two wires loose.
Evidently, they weren't tightened properly during installation. The loose connections caused high
heat at the terminals, which made the block burnt and brittle. Ordered new block by model number, installed it after cleaning terminals, and all is well.
