After finding out the cost that we would have to pay for the repair locally, I went to Appliance parts pro.com. with the intention of finding out the cost for parts. We had been quoted $100 for the first hour which included repair if it could be done under the first hour plus parts. And they added that the typical repair for the ice maker was between $200 and $500.
Fortunately we are very organized and had the original paperwork of the refrigerator which has all parts and numbers for the parts.
Then I watched the repair video and decided that it looked simple enough that we could do it ourselves.
Well it was not as easy (for us) as the video but, with a lot of trips to the computer to re-watch the video we got it done and working fine.
I recommend that you keep the computer or laptop close to your repair site just in case you need to review the procedure. And make sure to have good light to work.
