I did what others on this thread have done. I replaced the glass lid with a metal one. It works and fits perfectly. Just make sure to also purchase the two hinges and four screws. If they sell padding to put behind the hinges (like in their instructional video) buy that too. I used foam weather stripping.
Repair was very quick and easy.
I received the lid the next day, even though I selected regular delivery.
