You need to remove the entire compactor basket, so that can be a little unwieldy. There are 8 total Phillips head screws. Two on each side of the wrap-around portion of the panel, two on the bottom of the panel, and two larger screws that are used to hold the foot pedal in place. The two lower screws on the bottom of the panel also screw through the rubber stop strip on the bottom of the basket. Recommend removing the basket and then putting it somewhere where it can't do any harm with scratching and or rubbing (like a garage floor), as it has numerous sharp edges, and you don't want to tear up your tile while you shimmy parts on and off. Procedure was easy, and appliancepartspros had the part to us in literally less than 24 hours. Amazing service - probably the best in the country for parts. Their support gives you a lot of confidence to tackle projects you've been putting off. I should have done this 6 months ago.
