It's really and truly easy - not w/o needing a bit of figuring out how to hold things - but a simple matter of removing six screws (three per side) and not losing them while putting the new stainless steel panel on where the former white one was and screwing the screws back in. It's a bit tricky in that you have to simultaneously hold the piece in place (there are slots in the control panel above it and into which it fits) both towards you and upwards towards the opened inner door assembly and screwing in the screws. Two hands are one hand too few, but it can be done. Hint: pull the clear plastic material protecting the panel's finish off the top of the panel that tucks into those slots before tightening it up as otherwise it's almost impossible to remove the plastic covering completely. The cost of the stainless steel panel (about $150 delivered) and the time spent putting it on in order to match a new stainless stove and refrigerator was considerably less than the cost of a new dishwasher. Since the one there is only five years old and works fine, just the hassle of arranging delivery and having someone in the house to install a new one - forget about the money - made installing this panel myself both a great deal and a great deal easier than the alternative. 3 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes
