Unplugged the wall outlet and went to work. Watched a Youtube vide on how to change this touchpad first before I started, so as I got into it, there were no surprises. Hardest part was actually peeling the old unit off the plastic base. The adhesive is strong. It works really well to just rub the leftover glue with you finger to get it to ball up and be removed before you stick the new one in place.
Really a very straightforward repair as long as you can wield a Philips screwdriver and the sight of a circuit board doesn't make you terrified.
