First, the symptoms: No problems while filling; no problems while draining. If I opened the door when the screech began, I could see the wash arm spin to a stop. I knew the wash arm is driven only by water pressure, so that pointed to the circulation pump that pushes water during the wash cycle. I purchased my part and went to work. The repair was pretty straightforward using an instructional video. The old pump came apart in two pieces on removal, so that took a little extra work. The electrical connector didn't match the connector on the new pump, so I had to do a little splicing, but all the necessary parts were included. The first test cycle I tried after reassembly was a little noisy, but I realized it was because there weren't any loaded dish racks in it to absorb the normal vibration. Loaded it up and it runs fine!
