After researching the problem on line I determined the problem could be the control thermostat. On the AppliancePartsPro website, based on the fridge model number, I found the replacement thermostat details (Whirlpool WP2315562) & a step by step video on how to make the changeover. I ordered the thermostat that arrived within a few days & began the changeover using the video. The only glitch was that the video instructed that when installing the replacement reconnect "the red wire on top & the orange wire on the bottom" - although the replacement was stated to fit my fridge I discovered that two terminals on the new thermostat were in fact side by side & not one above the other as on the old one. Which wire to attach to which terminal? I called the 800 assist number & after a very short wait time was answered by a very nice lady who advised that I could connect the terminals either way - problem solved! The change over was successful & the fridge works just fine now
