How to replace Cooktop Downdraft Blower Fan Motor. I replaced the downdraft fan and fan motor of my 25 year old JennAire C301 cooktop. The issue was getting the fan/motor assembly out in such a tight place. I had to first remove the fan cover, cut the wires, then the assembly came out. Putting back wasn't as tough although getting the cover back on (over the motor) was a bit of a strain. Wired it back, turned it on, and was thrilled. Now I'll replace the knobs and burners and we're back in business. 27 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours
