How to replace Backsplash Assembly (Backguard). After opening the washing machine panel, I inspected the timer and noticed a loose piece of plastic, which corresponded to the part of the panel (backsplash and) that the timer mounts to. I ordered the replacement part and it was delivered very quickly. There was no video, but it looked like they just snapped or twisted in. I removed the timer knob(there is a video for this) and the other three knobs. The switches twisted out after gently pulling on the metal retaining bar / clip. I just had to twist them back in and for the timer, I had to unscrew it to where no threads were through the other end. The alignment of the timer was a bit more difficult, as it took a couple tries to get it lined up right. I screwed in the retaining screw and reinstalled the knobs. I secured the panel and everything is back to working order. Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes
