I spent time online diagnosing issues that would occur with different parts. After settling on what I thought the issue was I started Googling parts for my Maytag dryer model #. This website came up and after speaking with a representative, she gave me the part # I needed for my model dryer. I ordered the part which was rather cheap compared to other places. The part came quick. I took pictures of the old part so I could remember which way it went in and how the wires were arranged.
After getting it hooked up with the new part I plugged in my dryer and was sooo happy when it came back on.
I then set the timer on my dryer and waited to see if the knob would turn on its own.
I'm a single mother of 4 going to college so I can't afford to pay for repairs, so I do all my home repairs myself.
Thanks goes to this site for making it easy and affordable.
