Replace the touchpad. Shut off power. Remove door cover, unscrewed control panel and replaced with new one. Probably took 1/2 hour from getting my tools till final cleanup. Easy repair. After searching online for this problem I found many complaints about early failure. Our DW was about 5 years old. IMHO Maytag produced quality products in the past. Not so much anymore. I was able to get the part from appliancepartspros.com. I chose regular shipping and it arrived the very next morning. The customer service person that I ordered from was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I have used this company before for parts and have always been more than satisfied. BTW this is my last Maytag appliance.
