Ordered this part for my KA SS microwave and it was a perfect match. Removing the old cover was not that easy. It snaps in tight and I did not want to damage the SS top. The two fixed tabs go toward the back of the microwave and the two tabs with pinch pins go toward the door. You have to lower the end of the cover far enough to push something into the center arm of the tabs and release the pinch pins allowing the cover to drop down, then you pull toward the door and pull the tabs in the rear out of their slots. I used two plastic shims I have, one on each corner toward the door end of the cover and pushed them in and pried the cover open as far as I could. You only have about 1/16 of an inch opening at this point. I used a very small thin blade screwdriver that would fit between the fixed posts of the front tabs and pushed the plastic pinch pin inward, Problem was that I could only get one of the pins pushed in far enough to release one of the tabs. No matter how much I pushed I could not get the other pin to release. I kept pulling down on the cover as I pushed and finally that half the tab broke off. One side of the tab broke from the cover and the pin with the other side of the tab remained attached. But fortunately the part that broke off was hanging out of the slot in the roof, so I used a pair of needle nose pliers and removed the remains of the tab. Otherwise it would have been trapped inside the roof of the microwave. The new cover snaps right into place.
I think I did everything just as you should and one of the pinch pins released but the other refused so I am not sure what to do differently if I have to do this again..
