After spending several hundred dollars on a repairman, I did some research online and found that the UE code on an LG washer was a common problem. Perhaps I gave into a sunk cost bias, but I did not want to spend the money on a new washer especially after sinking so much money into fixing the current machine. As a result, I ordered and installed the suspension rod kit. It fixed the problem. It was an easy installation too: removal of four screws and then a little bit of strength to lift the washer tub up to remove and replace the suspension rods. It took about thirty minutes. Depending on the space in your laundry room (mine was tight), you might want to remove the hot and cold water lines. This too is easy - you just unscrew them like a garden hose (I used my adjustable wrench).
