Replaced the Control Panel, and everything was fully operational! Great assistance with the diagnosis from APP folks, in their forums. Be careful removing the wire connections to the stove burner indicator bulbs, but an easy task. Everything comes apart easily, nothing needs to be forced. Find the screw that hold it together: one on each end, and several underneath. Slide the whole unit out from the counter set-in to access the end screws. Overall a little tedious, but not hard. And certainly more efficient than calling a service person.
