This switch fixed a very frustrating problem, 75% of the time the washer refused to run because it "thought" the door was open. Replacing the switch was a very easy, in expensive, 5-min fix. The washer runs like new.
When taking off the gasket, there is a metal ring that holds the gasket in place. It is connected by a spring. Find the spring, put a flat head screwdriver between the spring and the gasket and pull the ring off. The gasket will then peel back, giving you access to the switch and wiring.
