The repair was surprisingly simple. Once I tilted and supported the washing machine up in the front and ran it, I discovered water profusely leaking from around the water pump. The water pump was quite easy to remove, only needing the inlet and output water hoses removed and the two clips snapped back. This was done with the front of the washer tilted up and supported. The water pump went on easily in reverse order, and voila! Problem solved.
