Top counterbalance on a Samsung frontload split down the plastic seam and threw concrete chunks around. Bought a new counterbalance weight. Slide the top of the machine off, remove the front control panel. You can leave the front of the washer on. Removed the two bolts holding it in place and put the new weight in. Added some spots of epoxy on the plastic seams that wrap the concrete just in case. Put it all back together and it works fine now.
The Samsung exploding washer issue says frontloads aren't effected. But that's pretty much what mine sounded like during the spin cycle when it threw concrete chunks around.
