Called a Maytag repair man, said "the bumpers are no longer available". These little things are actually critical to operation, because the lid safety switch needs to be pressed back far enough to sense that the lid is closed, and without the bumpers, this is a little iffy. I looked up the parts on the internet, came across AppliancePartsPros.com and guess what, the parts were available !!
