I thought the micro-switch was defective, but later found that the plastic pins that hold the switch on the bracket were broken. I purchased a new bracket, watched the replacement instruction video and did the job in a matter of minutes! After further thought I could have drilled holes in the bracket and screwed the micro-switch to the bracket and avoided the need for a new bracket.
