From here, I hesitated not to throw the old, used, faithful, yet retired filter into the garbage can. At this point, it was time to insert the new filter into the refrigerator unit. I remembered to check the orientation of the new filter, and fortunately this filter was not a transgender unit. With absolutely no trepidation, I inserted the filter and turned it 90 degrees clockwise in order to complete the mating sequence.
