Found the drip pan cracked on my 5 years old Maytag fridge. Replaced it and hope this will take care of the leak. The challenge is to remove the fan since is mounted on top of the drip pan.
No tools are needed since the fan is kind of snapped in (no screws). Slides on the edges of the drip pan, so you need to apply some force, carefully bent the plastic frame and push it out of the tracks. The fan frame is flexible enough to bend but careful not to break it.
Once the fan is out, the drip pan is also snapped in so there are two little tabs to be pushed out with your flat screwdriver. Install back the new drip pan, the fan, the little funnel and you are good to go. The whole job could take up to an hour if you don't have to do too much vacuuming and cleaning.
