This is a genuine OEM replacement door guard sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is used in refrigerators to hold bottles and small jars on the door shelf to prevent them from falling out when the door is opened and closed. As the refrigerator ages, normal wear and tear may cause damage to the door guard. If the guard is damaged and unable to support the weight of products placed on the door shelf, it should be replaced. If it is not replaced, storage space inside the refrigerator will be reduced. To start, disconnect the power to the refrigerator. Open the refrigerator door and remove the door guard by pulling it out of the holes on either side that support it. Insert one end of the new guard in one hole. Tilt the door guard up and slide it back down the inside of the door until the other end reaches the hole. Slide it in the hole and make sure both sides are secure. Replace any items removed from the door shelf and turn the power back on to the refrigerator. This door guard is a white plastic-coated metal bar that is sold individually. It is designed for use in refrigerators manufactured by General Electric.
