Replaced the element. 1st- Turn off the power to the appliance. The cook top is held on with two screws - access the screws by opening the oven door. Cooktop is hinged, so just pull up near oven door and hold in place with, say, a three foot long stick. The elements are held in place by bracket attached to the cooktop. I decided to change out the left side element and switch. The parts received from AppliancePartsPros cross-referenced perfectly to the OEM model numbers and appeared to be exact duplicates. SAFETY ALERT: Must shut off the power! The install required an electrical skill set, but for the most part, the average handyman can snap a couple of pictures or create a color scheme wire chart to ensure the female spade are landed in the proper locations; 15 to be exact.
