A stop wire can stretch out over time and will need to be replaced to ensure total safety. If the blade brake control is released and the blades continue to spin for more than a couple of seconds, the wire needs to be replaced.Take the equipment and put it on a flat surface before taking the metal on the stop cable and moving it out of the mower handle.
