Fuel filters are created to strain out gas before it reaches the carburetor in lawnmowers and other gardening tools. Located in the fuel line or the fuel tank, it prevents unwanted debris from reaching the carburetor, which can cause engine damage. If the fuel filter is damaged or becomes clogged with material, it no longer offers the same protection to the carburetor. This can lead to difficulty starting the lawnmower and decreased performance. Correcting this issue early can prevent damage that might require a new lawnmower. Maintenance of the lawnmower by adding fuel stabilizer, changing the oil, and replacing the air filter will increase the life of lawn care equioment. Even if no issues are present, the fuel filter should be replaced after about 200 hours of use. Disconnecting the spark plug should be done prior to installing a new fuel filter. This fuel filter is a genuine OEM component directly from the manufacturer and comes as an individual part. It can be used with various Craftsman, Cub Cadet, Murray, Yard Machines, MTD, Huskee, Bolens, Yard-Man, and Mastercut lawnmowers, tillers, blowers, and wood chippers.
Pull cord won't retract or seized up? This complete recoil starter assembly includes housing, pulley, spring, rope and grip. Bolts on in minutes.
Installing a brand-new air filter keeps the engine in top running condition. When the machine is in operation, the vacuumed air goes through the air filter. Any dirt or dust is left in the filter media. Over time, the filter will become dirty and can no longer provide the same filtering efficiency as before. If left ignored, the tiny particles could clog the engine and the carburetor. You may experience misfires and no engine start-up. An air filter replacement is cheap and easy to do. Simply remove the air cleaner cover and take out the dirty filter. Insert the new filter into the housing. This replacement will take less than 5 minutes. A screwdriver will be needed. The MTD 951-10298 Air Cleaner Kit is a genuine air filter from MTD. Each kit comes with one paper filter and one foam filter. The foam filter can be cleaned with water and detergent. The paper filter, however, needs replacement at least once a year. This air filter kit is compatible with Cub Cadet, PowerMore, and Troy-Bilt. It can also work with other garden equipment like wheel string trimmers, chipper-shredder vacuums, and log splitters.
Thumb screw that secures the air cleaner assembly on lawn mower and small engines. Replace if damaged, stripped, or missing due to vibration.
Governor return spring for small engines on lawn mowers, tillers, and outdoor power equipment. Replace if broken, stretched, or missing. Installs on engine.
This is a small engine spark plug positioned in the engine cylinder head. It supplies the spark that will ignite the air-fuel mixture to enable an engine to produce power. This particular spark plug is designed with superior corrosion resistance and dependable performance. Small but mighty, this component allows for increased conductivity and heat control. If the spark plug is damaged or in poor condition, many problems may arise in equipment, including sudden stop while running, overheating, and excessive gas consumption. Replace the spark plug by disconnecting the spark plug wire first, then use a socket driver or wrench to remove the spark plug. Install the new spark plug by turning it by hand initially to avoid cross-threading. If it doesn't twist anymore, use a deep socket wrench or socket driver to tighten the plug until snug. The spark plug can also be used to tune up outdoor power equipment or improve a small engine. This part is recommended to be replaced once per season. This part works with lawn mowers, snowblowers, tillers, leaf blowers, log splitters, wood chippers, and others with small engines. It is compatible with brands such as Craftsman, Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, Murray, Yard Machines, MTD, Huskee, Bolens, Yard-Man, and MasterCut. This is a genuine OEM part directly from the manufacturer and is sold individually.
