The water filter is an OEM part for GE refrigerators. This filter removes or reduces various contaminants.

The Defrost Heater Kit is an OEM part for GE refrigerators. It is designed to prevent frost and ice buildup within the freezer compartment by heating up at regular intervals to melt away any accumulated frost. For 12-inch glass tube heater use WR51X10055.

Symptoms of a bad Defrost Heater Kit include:

• Buildup of frost or ice on the freezer walls or around the evaporator coils.
• The refrigerator or freezer section becoming too warm due to blocked air vents by ice.
• Frequent cycling or longer running times of the refrigerator compressor.

Causes of a bad defrost heater can include failure of the heating element due to wear or a burnt-out component, malfunctioning sensors that regulate the defrost cycle, or electrical issues preventing the heater from activating.

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
