Replaces the freezer evaporator defrost heater to melt frost and keep the evaporator fins clear during the defrost cycle, helping restore proper airflow and more consistent cooling when frost or ice builds up. What it does:

  • Heats the evaporator fins during the defrost cycle to remove accumulated frost and ice.
  • Common symptom: visible frost or ice buildup on evaporator coils or freezer walls.
  • Other symptoms: reduced cooling performance or fluctuating/freezer temperatures that may indicate a defrost failure.
  • Works as the heating element in the refrigerator's defrost system to prevent recurring frost accumulation.

What's included: One defrost heater. Install notes:

  • Always disconnect power to the appliance before servicing to avoid shock or injury.
  • Heater mounts near or on the freezer evaporator; access typically requires removing interior panels and the evaporator cover.
  • Inspect wiring and connectors for damage; test the old heater for continuity before replacement.

The Light Bulb (40W) is an OEM component for GE refrigerators. As an essential task lamp, it illuminates the interior of the refrigerator and freezer compartments.

All light bulbs will eventually burn out with consistent use over many years. Vibration during compressor cycles can also potentially disrupt bulb filaments faster.

Symptoms of a burnt out refrigerator light bulb include:

  • Dim or no light illuminating inside refrigerator shelves
  • Shadows and dark spots making it difficult to find items
  • Higher utility costs from leaving the door open to see inside

This bulb is also compatible with refrigerators from brands like Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

This evaporator cover protects the freezer evaporator and ice assembly, helping direct airflow and preventing frost or ice from contacting components. It restores proper airflow paths and component protection after damage or during rebuilds. What it does

  • Shields the evaporator and ice assembly from debris and direct contact with ice
  • Directs cold airflow for consistent frost control and ice formation
  • Reduces the risk of icier buildup on nearby components when intact
  • Useful when the original cover is cracked, warped, or missing
What's included One evaporator cover Install notes
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before servicing to avoid shock
  • Replace only with the exact cover designed for the evaporator/ice assembly; secure with factory clips or screws
  • Handle carefully to avoid bending tabs or cracking the plastic during installation
  • If frost or ice buildup is present, defrost and dry the area before installing the new cover

This is the left-side freezer evaporator fan motor. It spins the fan to draw air across the evaporator coil and circulate cold air, restoring proper airflow, quieter operation, and stable temperatures when the original motor is weak, seized, or noisy.

  • Circulates air across the freezer evaporator coil to move cold air through the compartment
  • Supports even cooling and temperature recovery after door openings
  • Helps limit frost buildup on the back panel by keeping air moving
  • Failure symptoms include weak or no airflow, loud or intermittent fan noise, rising freezer temperature, or soft/melting ice
What's included: One evaporator fan motor (freezer, left position) Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing; wear cut-resistant gloves
  • Remove freezer drawers/shelves and the rear panel to access the motor
  • Note wire orientation; transfer the existing fan blade and any reusable mounting hardware from the old motor
  • Ensure the blade spins freely and the shroud is clear before restoring power and checking airflow

This temperature sensor monitors internal refrigerator temperatures and relays them to the control, helping the unit maintain consistent cooling. Replacing a failed sensor restores accurate temperature regulation and more reliable operation. What it does:

  • Measures compartment or evaporator temperature and sends a resistance signal to the control board
  • Helps the control modulate compressor and fan run times for proper cooling
  • Typical failure signs: sections too warm or too cold, erratic temperatures, or running longer than normal
  • Causes inaccurate temperature readings compared to setpoints
What's included:
  • 1 temperature sensor assembly
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing
  • Access the sensor in the affected section; release any cover/clip and unplug the connector
  • Route the new sensor's wiring like the original and ensure it's fully seated in its holder or clip
  • Restore power and allow up to 24 hours for temperatures to stabilize

A self-tapping screw used to fasten appliance panels and components where a threaded hole is formed as the screw is driven. Provides a secure hold for trim, brackets, and light assemblies during repairs. What it does:

  • Cuts its own mating thread in sheet metal or thin plastic to secure panels and brackets
  • Helps hold trim, access panels, or internal components in place
  • Commonly used where a tapped hole is not present or repair requires a replacement fastener
  • Can prevent loose parts and rattles caused by missing or damaged screws
What's included: One screw-tapping screw Install notes:
  • Unplug the appliance before servicing to avoid electrical or mechanical hazards
  • Use the correct screwdriver or bit to avoid stripping the screw head
  • Start the screw straight and apply steady pressure; do not overtighten to avoid cracking plastic or stripping metal
  • Replace only with the exact part number to ensure proper fit and function
