Randall P Shepherdsville , KY December 11, 2015 Bake element wasn't heating up when turned on Turned stove breaker off in the main breaker box and also unplugged the oven from the 220 outlet. pulled the baking racks out of the oven and proceeded to locate the 1/4 screws just above the bake element where it passes through the metal wall and removed them. pulled the element forward until the wires were exposed and unplugged them and then attached the new element to the wires and reinstalled in reverse order. Richard B Liberty Hill , TX October 20, 2016 Appliance: Model KENMORE 7909612408 The baking element and the broil element went dead suddenly & at the same time This is on a 10 year old, all electric Kenmore (aka Frigidaire). Internet search for my oven lead to checking control panel. Voltage in but not out at either element.. Further Googling, indicated control panel likely culprit. R&R control panel brought broil element to life & voltage out for baking (at the CP) but no heat at the baking element. Infinite resistance thru the suspect element and 40ish ohms thru the working element. R&R baking heat element with a part from AppliancePartsPros and everything works again. $200 total parts. 30 minutes total work time but lots of hurry up & wait time. Very simple -- until one of the connection wires slipped back through the hole after disconnecting from the element! Had to take the back cover off the range to get to it.
