John C. M Ruther Glen , VA July 15, 2014 Appliance: Frigidaire Electric Range FEFL79JBA F10 error code started flashing and my oven shut itself off temperature control failed After I came from from work, my wife told me about the problem. I quickly began to research the code F10 which according to the paper in the pouch behind my range said it needed a new temperature control sensor and that should fix it. It also said that if that doesn't fix the problem that I'd have to replace the circuit board which probably got fried due to the runaway temperature. So, I decided to just order the temperature sensor part# AP3963654 for $25.63 plus shipping. I ordered the part at 11 pm Thursday night and received it that Saturday at 12:30 pm. I paid for regular mail! I used a socket set to remove the bottom half of the backing then used the same socket set to remove the sensor. It was as easy as 1-2-3. I installed the the new part and closed up the backing. The whole process took me less than 10 minutes. Randolph E Sun City , AZ March 17, 2014 My electric range was not heating evenly and the temperature wouldn't stay at prescribed temp. The renters had a grease fire in the oven weeks earlier. The epair shop found nothing wrong. I went on the internet and researched symptoms and found that the temperature probe was a common culprit. I ordered the probe, installed it and have had no calls from my tenants. Rebecca M Arivaca , AZ March 02, 2015 Appliance: Model 790.95393900 The baking element would not heat in the oven the broiler worked as did all the other lights and controls I purchased the control board and installed it. The video appliance parts pro has for repairs and installation of parts is excellent. Now that we've moved to a very rural area we have to do more repairs ourselves which is intimidating to city people used to calling a repair man. My husband and I love the support videos. We also bought the oven probe since our oven never heated to the temp on the dial. Installed easily and our over works better than new. Thanks. Homer G Palm City , FL June 13, 2021 Oven would not pre heat to required temperature. I read that the controller and probe controlled the oven temperature. Also read if replacing controller you should replace the overlay. So I ordered all three parts and installed myself with no problem. I took a photo with my phone prior to unplugging wires so I knew the right way to plug the wires into the new controller. Works like new. Only need a nut driver and screwdriver to repair. Job from star to finish approximately 30 minutes. Read More... 4 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Screwdrivers
