Keith N Kaukauna , WI April 25, 2015 Fan making banging sound in housing The blower wheel center was worn down and spinning freely on shaft. Removing front covers, controls and brackets gave access to blower, which front half came off removing screws. (One screw underneath bracket) Pushed new blower on. (It's keyed and has small tabs that line up with groove on shaft). Installed clamp, reassembled and tested. Don't forget to pull the plug out before working on any appliance. Greg W Powell , TN May 17, 2019 Dryer was making a scrapping sound and not discharging air Removed angled panels below dryer section above the door. Removed control panel screws and connector on left side. Then removed the screws that held the front of plastic squirrel cage housing. Removed the wheel, which had cracks in it and the aftermarket worm drive hose clamp. Installed new wheel by pressing it as far back on shaft while lining up the flat on the shaft. Spun the wheel a few times until it spun freely without noise, then reversed order of removal.
